The Meaning and Path of Enhancing Ideological Cohesion and Leadership of Universities in the New Era

Ideological work is an extremely important work of the party. It is the cause of setting up the heart for the country and the soul for the nation. The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) stressed the importance of “Building a socialist ideology with strong cohesion and leading power” . As the front position of ideological work, colleges and universities firmly grasp the leadership of Marxist ideology, it is of vital importance to shoulder the important mission of cultivating builders and successors for the socialist cause. Based on an in-depth analysis of the theoretical, historical and practical logic of ideology, we should focus on four aspects of ideological construction in universities, including strengthening the leadership of the Party, building a solid foundation for education, scientifically preventing and controlling risks, and improving the ideological system and mechanism. Only by following the action logic of enhancing ideological cohesion and leadership in accordance with the new requirements of the new era, can the ideological cause of universities achieve high-quality development.
