Abstract

As an organic connection mechanism between small farmers and modern agriculture, farmers’ cooperatives help relocated farmers to establish a stable endogenous development power, which is of great significance to promote poverty reduction and rural revitalization strategy in the post poverty alleviation era. Based on micro-data of 1132 farmers in Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province in 2021, this study integrated land titling, financial support, and characteristics of farmers into the analysis framework, and then adopted the double-hurdle model to empirically the influence path of the willingness of relocated farmers to participate in agricultural cooperatives is analyzed. The results showed that: among the sample farmers, 945 farmers voluntarily participated in the cooperatives, the participation level was 0.05～0.8 hectares for each household and 4500～110000 CNY for each household. Landing titling and financial support had a positive impact on farmers’ decision and degree of participating in agricultural cooperatives. It is suggested that the government continue to improve laws and regulations on land transfer, building a platform for supervision and assistance of agricultural cooperatives, strengthening special financial supply of cooperatives, establishing cooperative risk management system and new agricultural subsidy system, promoting the reform of diversified price support system on the supply side of agricultural products.
