Purpose To evaluate the induction of rice blast resistance and the field control efficacy of AM16 culture solution in rice materials with diverse genetic backgrounds.
Methods Under greenhouse and field conditions, the induction and disease control effects of spraying AM16 culture medium (with water as the control) during the seedling or seedling stage on 11 rice materials were systematically evaluated.
Results AM16 culture solution significantly enhanced resistance to rice blast without adverse effects on plant growth. Field trials demonstrated that the average control efficiency against leaf blast and spike neck blast were 42.01%-60.37% and 25.43%-68.57%, respectively. Gene expression analysis revealed that AM16 culture solution regulated the expression of related genes, enabling plants to enter a defense priming state, thereby significantly enhancing disease resistance.
Conclusion AM16 culture solution is a promising immune inducer, providing a new approach for green prevention and control of rice blast disease.
