PurposeTo study the effects of different plant growth promoting bacteria containing ACC deaminase (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate deaminase) on the growth and vase features of carnation.
MethodsThe effects of different inoculated strains on the plant height, stem diameter, chlorophyll relative content, leaf number, flower diameter and flowering period during cultivation, and the fresh weight, chlorophyll degradation rate and litter rate in vase process of carnation Tenie and Master were studied by pot experiment.
Results1) During cultivation, the mixed strains showed some effects, especially increased leaf number of Tenie and stem diameter of Master significantly, with 25.0% and 6.2% higher than control, respectively. In addition, the florescence of Master was significantly prolonged by 34.9% after treatment with SN-2. 2) In the vase process, all strains could significantly inhibit the chlorophyll degradation rate of Master, and the SN-2 had the best performance, which was only 57.6% of the control. XG strain could significantly reject the decrease of fresh weight of Tenie and Master to 79.0% and 43.3% of control, respectively. XG, F and the mixed strains could significantly decrease the litter rate of Tenie leaves, while only the mixed strains had the same effect on Master leaves, which was only 54.4% of control.
ConclusionThe mixed strains in cultivation have the best growth promotion effect on carnation, while the XG strain and the mixed strains in vase process have the best maintenance effect on the vase characteristics of Tenie and Master, respectively.
