PurposeTo investigate the steroids from the processed Polygonatum kingianum Coll. et Hemsl.
MethodsThe compounds were isolated by using column chromatography, thin layer chromatography and preparative HPLC, and the compounds were identified by analyzing NMR data.
ResultsSix steroids were isolated from the processed P. kingianum, and identified to be as: balanoinvolin (1), 3β-hydroxystigmasta-5,22-dien-7-one (2), 3β-hydroxystigmast-5-en-7-one (3), β-sitosteryl-3β-D-glucopyranoside-6′-O-palmitate (4), β-sitosterol-β-D-glucopyranoside (5), β-sitosterol (6).
ConclusionCompounds 1 to 4 are isolated from the processed P. kingianum for the first time.
