Study on the Preparation of Paper-process Reconstituted Tobacco Colorant

  • PurposeTo improve the appearance quality of paper-process reconstituted tobacco, a paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant was prepared using tobacco stem extract.
    MethodThe effects of glucose addition, pH of the reactant, catalyst dosage, reaction temperature and reaction time on the rate of paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant color (EBC) were studied by the mean of single factor test and orthogonal experiment.
    ResultsWhen the reaction temperature and reaction time are 120 ℃ and 50min, the rate of paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant color had obvious advantages. The influential extent of affecting factors to the rate of paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant color were catalyst dosage > pH of the reactant > glucose addition when the reaction temperature was 120 ℃ and the reaction time was 50 min. And when reaction was under the following condition, the reaction temperature was 120 ℃, the reaction time was 50 min, the catalyst dosage was 6.0%, pH value of 5.5, the glucose addition was 40%, the high-quality paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant was prepared, the rate of paper-process reconstituted tobacco colorant color could be up to 35 974 EBC.
    ConclusionThe colorant prepared with tobacco stem extract can effectively improve the appearance color and quality of paper-process reconstituted tobacco sheet.
