Research on the Integrated Development of Agriculture, Culture, and Tourism Ternary Industries in Yunnan Province

  • In order to explore the evolutionary characteristics and driving mechanism of the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism (referred to as “Agri-Cultural Tourism”) in Yunnan Province, this paper constructed an index system covering the two dimensions of industrial factors and output performance based on the panel data from 2014 to 2023, and used entropy method, coupling coordination degree model, and grey correlation analysis method to carry out empirical research. The study found that the development level of Yunnan’s Agri-Cultural Tourism industry has steadily improved, with the driving force of integration shifting from an initial scale-driven pattern of industrial factors to a later endogenous growth pull of industrial performance. The coupled coordination degree has evolved from “severe imbalance” to “high-quality coordination”, with a trend evolving from “tourism lag” to “agricultural lag”, which reflected the dynamic dislocation between agricultural performance transformation and rapid expansion of cultural-tourism under the high-level coordination. The upgrading of consumer demand and the development of resource carriers are the core factors driving the ternary integration. Based on this, Yunnan should further explore the inherent value of plateau-specific agriculture and ethnic culture, rationally optimize the seasonal allocation and efficient utilization of rural labor, improve the rural transportation network system to connect scattered resources, and enhance the cooperative interest linkage and policy coordination mechanism, promoting the sustained and high-quality coordinated development of the tertiary industry.
