Abstract:
Being an indispensably important procedure in the teaching of English to English majors,the teaching of translation is intended to foster students’ comprehensive translation competence,including abilities in bilingual languages,in intercultural communication and in their transformation etc.The Gestalt Theory,which consists of a series of cardinal principles,reveals the general cognitive laws when people try to cognize things.The paper,along with the principles of holism,closure,and isomorphism,elucidates teaching of translation should be aimed to cultivate students’ holistic translation awareness,foster students’ initiatives in translation,and nurture students’ emotional and cognitive aptitude.
