Abstract:
With the form of empirical research, this study attempts to testify its effect on the teaching and testing of college vocational English listening and speaking. In this paper, the results of formative assessment are compared with those of the summative. And a questionnaire and interview on formative assessment are carried out to verify its positive effect on promoting teaching and learning. After the experiment and research, the author comes to the following conclusions: formative assessment can help assess the level of listening and speaking more accurately, and promote learners’ proficiency as well as their autonomy effectively.
